Assistant controller

Advansix

This is a Full-time position in Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ posted December 17, 2019.

The Assistant Controller role will be primarily responsible for AdvanSix accounting policy, consolidation process, external financial reporting, and global internal controls, including compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.

While the role is very fluid in nature and varies based on activities of the company, core responsibilities include: Managing accounting and control aspects of key strategic initiatives including acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, litigation, etc.

Rendering accounting advice and policy interpretation to all business units.

Lead assessment and world-wide implementation of new account pronouncements.

Execution of all aspects of quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements.

Managing interactions and communications with external auditor and Audit Committee.

Overseeing the company’s SOX 404 compliance efforts.

Establishing, monitoring and improving compliance with company-wide accounting policies and controls including pensions, equity compensation, benefits accounting, etc.

Position interfaces significantly with ASIX CFO’s, Controller and CEO and their staffs.

Main liaison with Corporate Audit and external auditors.

This position reports to the Vice President and Controller for AdvanSix and manages 1 direct report in financial reporting and SOX.

Qualifications CPA required, MBA preferred.

Minimum of 10 years experience.

Significant experience in multinational public accounting firm, with service to mid or large cap public entities, national office experience a plus Experience with $1B+ public company Extensive GAAP and SEC financial reporting experience Strong technical accounting skills Strong business acumen and risk management skills Demonstrable success in leading teams and in influencing beyond organizational borders Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive process improvements Strong oral/written communication skills Mobility (for prospective successor roles) Light travel, up to 20% of time AdvanSix is an equal opportunity employer.
