Sous Chef


This is a Full-time position in Newark, NJ posted December 27, 2019.

Job Responsibilities:
· Responsible for all facets of daily hot food production including presentations for airlines, maintenance of daily requisitions, production sheets and monthly updates.

· Ensure compliance with airline specification, personal hygiene and food handling procedures.

· Assist in the development and training of employees.

· Assist in maintaining a good relationship between the departments.

· Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
· Minimum of 5 years cooking experience with a minimum of 2 years as a lead cook in a high volume cooking institution/airline catering.

· Must have knowledge of Good Manufacturing Procedures.

· Prior experience with HACCP required.

· Experience with multi-airlines (international customers a plus)
· Ability to read, speak and write English.

· Good organization and communication skills.

· Bilingual a plus Assisting executive chef with kitchen operations of assigned restaurant Running the kitchen when the head chef is Train new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards Work all food stations in kitchen Memorize food recipes and food preparation instructions Inspect all food sent from the kitchen Conduct regular inventory of food and kitchen supplies Oversee food preparation and maintenance of kitchen equipment Planning and directing food preparation in the kitchen Assist the executive chef in handling all aspects of the kitchen operation to maintain and develop high quality food Value employees daily contributions to satisfy clients and uphold operational standards and reputation Prepare and present delicious food Work in coordination with the staff to complete all food preparation Work in coordination with the Chef Manager to lead a team & complete all food preparation Work in coordination with the chef to complete all food preparation Direct the preparation, delivery, and display of hot and cold food catering or other foodstuffs as required to standards Preparing food daily as outlined on the Food Production Worksheet
