Mid-Level Civil EngineerTBC, Inc.Job Description: TBC is seeking a Mid-Level Civil Engineer to join our team of professionals in our Anchorage, Alaska office.Who We Are: TBC was formed in 1995 specifically to provide project management services to the Municipality of Anchorage. To better serve our growing clientele, which include State and local governments, private developers, native villages and corporations and the oil industry, TBC now provides a full suite of high-quality services to ensure that our diverse clients receive efficient delivery of professional services at economical costs and streamlined schedules. TBC has grown to include 27 full-time or permanent seasonal employees including eleven registered professional engineers, land surveyors, and landscape architects. Examples of our work disciplines include:Project ManagementCivil EngineeringConstruction Management and InspectionLand Use and Environmental Permitting Studies and PlanningCadastral and Construction SurveyingLandscape ArchitecturePublic Involvement, Government Relations and Grant WritingPosition Responsibilities: In the role of a Mid-Level Civil Engineer, responsibilities will include:Designing and planning production for general civil on a wide variety of projects, including roadways, utilities, site layouts, grading and drainage and associated civil engineering activities.Preparing construction drawings, specifications, quantity calculations and contract documents.Performing complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and use of engineering techniques and procedures.Working independently with minimal supervision, and completing multiple technical tasks under tight deadlines.Completing periodic site visits which may require occasional travel to remote sites in Alaska.Preferred Qualifications: We are in search of candidates with the following experience:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or related engineering field.5+ years of experience in general civil engineering.Alaska Professional Engineer License, or the ability to obtain within six months through reciprocity.Familiarity with the MOA Standard Specifications (MASS), Design Criteria Manual (DCM), and Title 21 highly desirable.Familiarity with State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Specifications, AASHTO, and MUTCD is highly desirable.Familiarity with Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility (AWWU) design standards is highly desirable.Computer skills using a Windows operating systemProficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Outlook and PowerPointProficient with CAD and design software (Civil 3D, Water CAD, Sewer CAD, ARC GIS, etc.)Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and writtenAbility to work both independently and with a teamStrong organizational and analytical skillsValid U.S.
