Project Architect: Project Architects are required to maintain reliable and predictable attendance and may be responsible for Client Management and/or Project Management; specific expectations are: 1.

Clients are extremely satisfied, well informed and confident about project(s) and team a.

Clients’ expectations are managed and met; b.

Communication with Clients is timely, accurate and effective; c.

Clients respond positively about their overall experience with the firm.

Firm ownership is extremely satisfied, well informed and confident about projects and team a.

Ownership’s expectations are managed and met; b.

Communication with Ownership is timely, accurate and effective; c.

Project Architects represent firm to our clients, employees and the broader AEC community, with the highest level of professionalism; d.

Project Architect accepts and executes unplanned activities and other duties as assigned by Ownership and Project Manager.

Client Manager is extremely satisfied, well informed and confident about projects and team a.

Client Manager’s expectations are managed and met; b.

Communication with Client Manager is timely, accurate and effective.

Projects are profitable a.

At this time, profitability is defined as ‘making our hourly rate’ on firm labor and passing on all consultant fees and reimbursables; b.

Invoice review (pre-bills) is handled in a timely and effective manner; c.

Collection of Accounts Receivable is handled in a timely and effective manner.

Projects run smoothly a.

Design Budget, Design Schedule, Resource Allocation are effectively planned, deployed and tracked; b.

Firm team (in-house & consultants) is well-managed; c.

Interaction with entire Project Team (Client, Contractors, Vendors, etc.) is well coordinated and communication is robust and pro-active; d.

Documents and files (digital and physical) are well managed and current; e.

Design Product meets firm standards and fulfills the contract; f.

Construction Contract Administration is effectively planned, managed and executed; g.

Projects are properly and effectively ‘closed out’.

6.

Projects meet or exceed the accepted standard of care a.

Digital and paper documentation is complete and correctly filed and/or distributed; b.

QA/QC is documented and produces a minimum of technical comments; c.

All deliverables (i.e., reports, renderings, estimates, correspondence) receive effective QA/QC review prior to release; d.

Subsequent audits of drawings and files produce a minimum of technical comments; e.

Code Officials and Contractors uncover a minimum number of errors; f.

No legal action is brought against firm.

7.

Business Opportunities from existing clients are effectively cultivated and managed a.

New projects, from existing clients, are actively sought and closed; b.

Requests for proposals from existing clients are handled effectively; c.

Referrals to new opportunities are sought from existing clients.

8.

Staff is well managed and improving a.

Staff knows what is expected and is provided clear direction (Task, Time, Timing); b.

Staff understands personal Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (S.W.O.T.) and has a personal development plan; c.

Proper time is given to support staff development plan; d.

Staff is measurably improving; e.

Thoughtful reviews are submitted on a regular basis (average weekly); f.

‘Opportunities for improvement’ of ‘direct reports’ make up a meaningful portion of review submittals.

Qualifications: 7-10 years working experience in an Architecture office.

Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) Licensed professional (RA) possessing more than 5 years of experience preferred.

Excellent AutoCAD and design skills.

Candidates must have good written and verbal skills.
