Job DescriptionSummary: This position is responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care of the emergency care patient.

This position requires knowledge of departmental and hospital policies relevant to the delivery of emergency care.

Interpretive skills, frequent interactive and consultative associations are inherent in this position.

Other information: Minimum one year Emergency Department or Critical Care experience preferred.

Collects adequate and correct blood/urine specimens from patients as ordered by physicians, using proper technique and equipment.

Correctly labels specimens and processes.

Ensures appropriate delivery of specimens to the lab via courier or specimen pick up from outside agencies.

Credentials: Essential: * RN Registered Nurse * BLS Basic Life Saving certification * ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support * NIH Stroke Certification Nonessential: * BABY Certification-15 Hrs Online, 5 Hrs Observation * TNCC Trauma Nurse Core Course/ Training * PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support Competencies and skills: Essential: * Experience In Hospital Or Acute Care Setting * Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal * Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members * Able To Withstand Crisis Situations * Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors * Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records Education: Essential: * RN Diploma/RN Graduate Program Location: Millville All Services Shift : FTE: 0.001000 Work Status: Per Diem per diem requirements: Work Requirements: 1.

Per Diem RN, Per Diem Float Nursing Tier 1 and Per Diem Float CNA must work or have been scheduled a minimum of 12 hours per pay period and must sign up prior to schedule being finalized.

2.

Per Diem Float Nursing Tier 2 must work or have been scheduled a minimum of 24 hours per pay period and must sign up prior to schedule being finalized.

3.

Per Diem RN, Per Diem Float Nursing Tier 1 and 2 and Per Diem Float CNA must work or have been scheduled a minimum of 2 12hour weekend shifts per 6 week schedule.

4.

Per Diem RN , Per Diem Float Nursing Tier 1 and 2 and Per Diem Float CNA will be required to work a summer and winter Holiday that should rotate each year.

5.

Education and meeting time does not count toward working requirement hours.

6.

Team members must maintain all mandatory educational requirements of Beebe Healthcare and individual department competencies/requirements.

7.

Team members who do not work required hours for two (2) pay periods in a rolling 12 month period will be terminated, unless previous manager/director agreement has been obtained / approved.

Any missed mandatory requirements must be completed prior to return to work and presented with appropriate disciplinary action.

8.

Team members who do not meet mandatory educational requirements (licensure/certification) will be terminated.

9.

All Per Diem, and casual staff must be scheduled for a minimum of 36 hours per pay in order to eligible for any incentive pay or guaranteed overtime pay.

10.

Per Diem RN, Per Diem Float Nursing Tier 1 and Per Diem Float C.N.A.

must have no more than 3 unscheduled absences in a calendar year.

After 3 unscheduled absences they will be moved to disciplinary action.

11.

Per Diem Float Nursing Tier 1 and 2, are required to have ACLS and must be able to work in MS, Ortho, SD, CDU and with Inpt overflow.

12.

All Float staff must sign up for hours through Float manager or staffing office.

13.

Once a shift has been committed to, it must be worked or the team member is responsible to find coverage.

If no coverage is found, this will be an unscheduled absence.SDL2017
