Lead Application Developer

• Perform functional reviews, technical high level and detail-level design and oversee projects implementation from start to finish
• Provide leadership for projects as assigned, identifying required work, timelines and tasks
• Help users to quickly resolve issue and determine where changes are needed to resolve root cause
• Serve as a senior-level analyst by gathering requirements and developing system design specifications for new information systems
• Lead application development projects, new software selection and installations and business process improvement efforts
• Serve as a liaison with developers and other technical IT staff and contractors by providing requirements and specifications, and ensuring deadlines are met
• Develop and support applications using a variety of languages, including .NET, C#, VB.net, Java, Python, JavaScript, HTML and Angular
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and architects to plan, design, develop, and test services, API and web applications
• Apply innovation, creativity and problem-solving skills to the development process while keeping abreast of new technologies
• Recreate steps taken by user to locate source problem and rewrite program to correct errors; evaluate and provide technical solutions for application development issues
• Design and develop MSSQL Server databases/Oracle, stored procedures
• Evaluate existing and new system functionality to determine requirements and develop action plan to correct deficiencies
• Design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications following established architecture standards and software development and project management methodologies
• Assure testing and debugging techniques are used effectively in system development and maintenance
• Lead small projects and coach other project personnel to ensure business application systems are developed according to standards and established methodologies
• Support critical business processes and systems that require design or integration of technical solutions that may cross multiple business functions
• Investigate and resolve application functionality-related issues and provide support and troubleshooting of production systems
• Coach and mentor direct staff, conduct performance evaluations, and manage performance of the team’s goals and objectives
• Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written; design, code, test, debug and document programs
• Provide project reports to management; anticipate and identify issues and implement corrective actions
• Formulate and define application scope and objectives and devise/modify procedures to solve business problems

• A minimum of seven years of experience in information systems/technology or related field
• A minimum of five years managing teams of three or more individuals, including staff and or contractors
• Experience with Crystal Reports for .Net Framework or equivalent Crystal Report development experience
• Deployment of client/server applications on a windows-based platform experience, using .Net Remoting
• Technical proficiency in the following: Web Service (SOA/SOAP/REST/XML, JSON, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, IIS, CSS, VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET)
• Proficient in the primary technologies supported: Net, C#, Ajax, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, JSON, IIS Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle experience, including stored procedures, functions, views, and database triggers
• Understanding of gas commodity trading business, Solar/SREC trading business and experience in energy trading and/or gas scheduling system is a plus
• Experience with Java/HTML and VB.NET programming and Oracle BI Publisher Working Knowledge of Aligne Trade and Risk Management System | SunGard
