Java Software EngineerCartesian has an exciting opportunity for a Sr.

Java Software Engineer to join their client’s Messaging team in developing new features on their messaging platform. Responsibilities include: Development and implementation of new features and components on Multi-Channel Messaging platformsWorking closely with security, middleware and client architects in formulating the best technical direction on these platformsEnsuring developed servers can support millions of users concurrentlyParticipation in requirements and specification processes including task estimation, risk assessment, performance profilingResolving defectsLiaising with peer organizations for customer requirements and customizationsLiaising with our Quality Assurance team to execute on Test Driven Development (TDD)Liaising with external security companies to ensure best technology solutions availableThe ideal candidate will have:Eight years of Java development experience in an N-Tier design and development environmentExcellent knowledge of Java, Apache Tomcat, J2EE, and Java 8Knowledge of REST principles used to develop REST APIsUnderstanding of design patternsStrong knowledge of application process flow and problem-solving techniquesHigh level of software engineering literacy and communication skillsFriendly and professional manner, able to work in teamsKnowledge of Spring and Hibernate frameworks, especially Spring Boot and Spring-Cloud-ConfigFamiliarity with version control tools such as git/svn/stash and Bamboo and experience with issue tracking tools such as JIRADetailed familiarity with protocols like SIP, MSRP, RTPExposure to related messaging standards such as OMA CPM as well as lower-level dependencies such as ENUM, DNS etc.Architectural knowledge of IMS Core Network.Hands-on experience implementing, designing or debugging messaging flows specific to RCSe, Joyn, or RCS Universal ProfilePreferred candidates will have: Detailed familiarity with SIP and associated extension RFCs as used by RCSArchitectural, development, or operational experience with Java Application Servers such as Tomcat or Wildfly, and SIP Application Servers such as SailfinVoice/video over IP knowledge including familiarity with RTP, audio/video codecs such as H.264/ HEVCContributed to a standards body such as GSMA, IETF or W3C  Occasional travel requiredLocation: Phoenix, AZ or Bridgewater, NJDuration: 6 + months
