Maintenance Technician

This is a Full-time position in Newark, NJ posted December 27, 2019.

Our client in Newark is in need of a Maintenance Technician on a temp to hire basis.

Pay up to $20 per hour .

Duties include: troubleshoot, dismantle, inspect, repair, modify, rebuild, service and adjust all types of plant equipment.

Print reading to include electrical and hydraulic prints and schematics.

Experience with AC/DC motors and drives, 110-460Vac Circuits, thermocouples, single and three phase circuits, HVAC, reversing starters, and personnel computers.

Communication skills both verbally and written.

Troubleshooting, conduit threading, bending installation, wiring installation, electronic repair skills.

Work with Packaging Technician and Farm Operators on establishing equipment home-settings and maintaining baseline conditions.

Operation of equipment including forklift, man lift, aerial lift, overhead cranes, and mobile cranes.

Use of Volt meters, calibration of equipment, oscilloscope leaders, PLC’s, PC’s.

Calibration of all types of electrical equipment and HVAC systems.

Must exercise good judgement at all times and can complete assigned tasks, as well as, breakdown repairs without direct supervision.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to ensure minimum interruption to process.

Errors could cause serious injury or loss of life for employee or others.

Significant financial losses could occur from damage to equipment and/or losses of equipment.

Work in environment with temperature that varies from extreme good to moderate.

Exposure to farm environment: outside heat (110 degrees), (32 degrees cold) (ambient), wet, humid, dirty wet and some chemical exposure.

A high to very high degree of concentration is required.

Strenuous physical activities including a lot of walking, climbing ladders and stairs, entering restricted areas, heavy lifting (50 lbs.

or more) and working in high areas.

Responsible for the maintaining and sanitation of all work tools High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 3 years heavy industrial maintenance and electrical experience Successful completion of an approved Heavy Industry Apprentice Program helpful Print reading including electrical and hydraulic prints and schematics Calibration of all types of electrical equipment and HVAC systems.

Five (5) years heavy industrial maintenance and electrical experience or successful Rotating weekends required Skills: A high to very high degree of concentration is required.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to ensure minimum interruption to process.

Communication skills both verbally and writing Temp to hire position
– 8am-5pm Must be able to work weekends as needed.
