UX Copywriter


This is a Contract position in Boonton, NJ posted December 28, 2019.

Looking for a UX copywriter for a role at a large media company. Our ideal candidate is someone who can thrive in a collaborative, iterative, and adaptive environment and enjoys working across a wide variety of different projects. Your day-to-day will include using the full extent of your skills towards innovating and refining our core app experience through engaging, informative and succinct copy; from creating activation flows for a product to creating e-commerce pages for conversion to educating our customers on what Privacy & Security is. Under the guidance of the Creative Director, you will help conceptualize and build towards perfected copy language and brand tonality framework. You may also have the opportunity to assist in constructing strategic narratives and vision for a variety of initiatives and work-streams.

Job Term: Contract (full-time schedule) with a potential opportunity to convert to full-time

Roles and Responsibilities:
Work with copy team to support production of UX copy, internal communications, and other pieces as needed in support of design, development, SEO, and marketing and communications teams
Maintain accurate, up-to-date copy files; track messaging feedback (from stakeholders and legal reviewers)
Produce concepts and copy that are inspired, fresh and engaging.
Provides copy leadership, expertise and support
Quickly comprehends the nuances and complexities of core products, services and features and translates the innovations/upgrades we launch into meaningful consumer and agent-facing copy thats consistent with our brand guidelines (voice, personality, core messaging, etc.)
Writes with a strong focus on the user perspective while remaining mindful of overall Comcast business objectives
Collaborates with design team, Product and Brand when appropriate in order to properly convey direction to users (through language, tone and nomenclature) in order to simplify/improve the overall user experience and meet business requirements.
Creates fresh content that adheres to the brands voice while working with team leads to further establish brand tone and copy guidelines. All project deliverables will be executed according to these guidelines and departmental best practice.
Translates information architecture (user flows, wireframes, user research, etc.) into proper strategic user experience (UX) copy.
Review, critique, and edit design documents.
Presents work to peers, partners and management in a clear, professional manner. Where appropriate, include research that will support chosen strategies.
Maintains internal documentation library, providing and/or coordinating special documentation services as required, and oversight of special projects.
Provides copy-decks in alignment with overarching business and user experience goals.

What Youll Need:
Copywriting experience in an agency or UX team setting
A portfolio of work, including live samples, and the ability to present it well
Expert knowledge of the English language and ability to self-edit
Impeccable attention to detail
Agility and flexibility to adapt to changing requests in a fast-paced environment
Ability to track jobs over time
Working knowledge of how to carry voice across various platforms to speak to different audiences
B.A. in English, Communications, Marketing or other related fields
