Sales engineer

A company that manufactures hightemperature furnaces is searching for a Sales Engineer.

The Sales Engineer is responsible for developingnew customers and new sales orders from existing customers in their assignedterritories.

Within this role the Sales Engineer must be able tocommunicate technical information at the same level as the customer’s engineers.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Prepareand deliver technical equipment presentations
· Conferwith customers and engineers to assess product requirements
· Recommendfurnace options to customers, showing how changes can lower costs or improvequality of their finished product
· Apply anengineering mindset to the business of selling furnaces
· Ability totreat each sale like a problem to be solved to help the customer understand theneed that our furnaces can fill.

A solutions approach more so than a featureand benefit approach
· Prepareaction plans and schedules to identify specific targets and project the numberof contacts to be made
· Follow upon new leads and referrals resulting from field activity
· Developand maintain sales materials and current product knowledge
· Establishand maintain current customer and potential customer relationships
· Manageaccount services through quality checks and other follow ups with our customerservice and process technician staff combined with multilevel customer contacts
· Prepare avariety of status reports, including activity, order closings, follow-ups, andadherence to sales goals and objectives
· Communicatenew product and service opportunities, special developments, information, orfeedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff
· Coordinatecompany staff to accomplish the work required to close the sale
· Be available to travel every other weekREQUIREDKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Excellentcommunication skills with the ability to communicate with people from multiplelevels at the customer and within the company from management to manufacturingstaff
· Ability to multitask,work under pressure, and meet deadlines
· Demonstrate strongorganizational skills
· Ability to persuadeand influence others
· Ability to create,compose, and edit written materials
· Visibility – Being infront of the customer and colleagues requires maintaining a professionalappearance and providing a positive company image
· Work requires awillingness to work a flexible schedule and overnight travelREQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· Degree in Engineering or similar technical field
· Good computer skills
· 3 years of progressively responsible workexperience in Sales
· Experience working in a manufacturing company a plus
