Benefits and Compensation Supervisor

DSV Global Transport and Logistics

This is a Contract position in Clark, NJ posted December 12, 2019.

SUMMARY The Benefits and Compensation Supervisor provides total rewards strategic consulting and administration to DSV US business divisions (Air & Sea, Road, Solutions, and Puerto Rico), providing insights and resolutions for benefits and compensation related issues.

Comprehensive knowledge of relevant laws and regulations is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides consultation and administration of compensation, benefits and incentive programs
• Administration of company retirement plans (401K and Non-Qualified), including weekly contribution uploads, payroll changes, integration error resolution, and finance summary report generation
• Applies knowledge of business needs to drive compensation-oriented interventions that may include, but are not limited to incentive plans, and incumbent impact, and plan communication/ roll-out.

• Provides daily supervision and support of the HRSS staff in Clark, NJ
• Manages Open Enrollment for US and Puerto Rico
• Conducts bi-weekly new hire orientation for all three divisions (Air & Sea, Road, Solutions)
• Generates COBRA new hire and term reports and monitors subsidies/integrations
• Assigns benefit eligibility codes in ADP
• Manages annual merit process and annual bonus
• Monitors and coordinates rehire benefits
• Responds to escalated benefits inquiries from Shared Services and business unit inquiries regarding benefits related issues.

• Creates training programs and communications for business units to ensure understanding of benefits programs and program changes.

• Monitors benefits trends, create dashboards and partner with peer groups to proactively address benefits issues in the business units.

• Partners with HRIS and acts as the subject matter expert.

Ensures the synchronization of multiple systems (payroll, time keeping, etc.)
• Effectively handles information and reports while maintaining the strictest confidentiality
• Critically reviews and analyzes current benefits procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations
• Complies with country legal requirements by being knowledgeable of existing and new legislation, ensuring adherence to requirements and making changes to the policies and processes
• Directs audits and/or audit benefits as required
• Communicates actively with Operations, HR, Finance and Accounting to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing
• Ensures systems are set-up and updated to reflect the current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick and vacation time in line with contracts
• Manages regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports
• Conducts all year end and quarterly benefits processing requirements
• Manages in partnership with Senior Manager HRSS, all benefits related vendors (i.e.brokers)
• Partners with HRBPs to understand unique business unit needs or concerns, conduct market research to validate/address concerns, and develop recommendations as needed.

• Develops deep knowledge of business unit supported to understand jobs and compensation practices in the market for similar jobs.

• Applies knowledge of business unit needs to drive compensation oriented interventions that may include, but are not limited to incentive plans, and incumbent impact, and plan communication/ roll-out.

• Responds to escalated compensation inquiries from Shared Services and business unit inquiries regarding compensation related issues
• Creates training programs and communications for business units to ensure understanding of compensation and benefits programs and program changes.

Partners with HRBPs for rollout and on-going training
• Monitors compensation trends, create dashboards and partner with peer groups to proactively address compensation issues in the business units.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education and/or Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
· At least 5 years’ management experience
· Minimum 4 years of experience in Human Resources with a focus in benefits
· Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to employee benefits and employee pay
· Experience with relevant HR systems, applications, and tools; metrics, data, and business intelligence tactics SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES Computer Skills Strong proficiency in basic MS Office applications Excel – Intermediate, prefer advanced Language Skills English (reading, writing, and verbal) Mathematical Skills Intermediate Other Skills
· Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations that require sound decision making and may involve confidential or sensitive matters
· Ability to build relationships and influence and advise business leaders and HR business partners on complex, sensitive or contentious issues
· Problem-solving, critical thinking, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, and analytical skills
· Ability to communicate technical or financial information to a non-technical audience; as well as the ability to facilitate both small and large groups in a variety for forums
· Ability to successfully work in a matrix environment
· Ability to develop a positive rapport and maintain strong working relations with every level in the organization, including all internal and external customers

· Global Remuneration Professional (GRP) PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work is generally sedentary, with no specific need for physical coordination or effort.

May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or occasional standing, walking, lifting needed to carry out everyday activities.

Hours can be extensive as well as occasionally staggered for multi-shift access.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.

The employee uses computer and telephone equipment.

Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision.

Minimal travel maybe required for this role domestically and internationally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
