HR Manager, JACKSON, MIAt JSP, we are the leading global manufacturer of expanded polypropylene and polyethylene foam products.

Our products are used in many automotive, packaging, construction, sport and consumer applications.

The company has research and development, manufacturing, and molding facilities in the major industrial countries of Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

We are currently seeking an HR Manager at our Jackson, MI location.

For more information about JSP, please visit our website, www.jsp.comThis position will provide professional management support to the Jackson Plants in the area of Human Resources, safety and environmental including, but not limited to recruitment and employment, workers compensation, personnel records, employee and/or labor relations, benefits administration and organizational development.

This position ensures the required practices, policies and processes of JSP are administered legally and consistently.

Supports the Director Human Resources in the implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through the employee handbook and verbal communications.

Serve as a conduit between employees and management by providing equitable support via tactful and diplomatic communications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Oversee the Leaves of Absence/FML Activities 
· Manage the Data for the HRIS
· Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resources management.

Identify trends that impact the Jackson Plants.
· Support the Safety and Environmental Process
· Compile data and identify patterns
· Partner with managers to recruit, retain and motivate a diverse, workforce at JSP using the most efficient and cost effective methods.

· Welcome new employees and conduct new hire orientation
· Conduct new hire follow-up to ensure employees are transitioning smoothly to JSP
· Manage all Employee RelationsResponsibilities: Employee Relations Issues:
· Strive to maintain an open forum for communication and ensure information is disseminated to employees in a proactive mannerWork with managers to develop performance plans and goals, develop cross training matrix and methods to ensure training is completed Workers’ Compensation:Authorize testing of claimant, i.e.

MRI if prescribed by the panel physician.Delegate work assignments for transitional work employees.Arrange re-employment drug screening and medical exam for employees off work longer than 45 days.Recruiting:Job postings both internal and externalWorking with hiring managers to determine needsContact community job placement services and arrange for on-site screening of candidates.Conduct testing & interviewing on site and determine which candidates to consider for possible hire.Family Medical Leave/STD Management:Identify FMLA, and/or STD eligibility.

Communicate benefits to employee.Coordinate return to work with treating physician and employee.Schedule re-employment drug-screening and medical exam for employees off work longer than 45 days.Preferred Background and Experience:BA/BS Degree in Human Resources, Business or equivalent experience.

Professional certification required.

5 to 8 years performing a human resources function in a manufacturing or related environment.

Excellent PC skills using Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

HRIS, report writing and query experience a plus. Working understanding of FMLA, WC, ADA & EEO statutes.

The ability to learn other computer programs easily is critical.

Incumbent must utilize discretion, be detail oriented and have strong communication, organizational and time management skills.
