Product Manager – Bridgewater or San Jose, CA Hamamatsu, one of the world’s largest suppliers of advanced light detectors and detector systems for industrial, scientific, and commercial applications, is seeking to fill a Product Manager position, in our Bridgewater, New Jersey or San Jose, California location. Our customer base is remarkably diverse; we serve Fortune 100 firms, top research labs, and innovative startups as well.

This position requires working with, or exposure to goods and information that may be subject to the jurisdiction of the US State Department ITAR regulations and the Commerce Departments CCL It is the policy of Hamamatsu Corporation not to sponsor immigration visas for employment applicants.Job Duties: Meet regularly with HPK (Japan) camera engineers, HPK export sales group and HPEU camera and marketing colleagues to ensure full understanding of roadmap plans, technical issues, value proposition and global messaging strategy. Train camera sales team and dealer networks on new products, value proposition, market trends, technical challenges and competitive landscape. Create tools that the sales force and distribution network can use to present our products and our company to customers and stay on brand and on message. Attend, when needed, special demos, particularly for Key Opinion Leaders (KOLS), market influencers and invested dealers. Keep good ties with KOLs and communicate regularly with HPK and HC sales on these activities.

Advise sales and technology on handling customer service related issues. Lead projects to determine existing and new market needs, new product value propositions and strategic target applications.

Identify opportunities to increase market share or revenue.

Work with a core camera group to define the strategy and tactics needed to achieve the product line goals and define and execute the plan. These activities will include setting new product pricing, managing existing price lists, negotiating and authorizing special customer (KOL) and dealer pricing, establishing appropriate quantities of demo equipment, releasing aged demo equipment for sales, advising on sales forecast based on market trends and industry dynamics.Assist in creating messaging and content for website, newsletter and other marketing activities through discussions with customers, dealers and colleagues and by reading highlights of scientific literature. Content creation may require writing directly or managing a consultant or other colleague through the writing process. Represent Hamamatsu messaging and products by creating and giving presentations to customers, dealers and imaging classes as needed.

Work with HC, HPK and HPEU to make sure content is appropriately placed on website and shared with customer base.Tradeshow marketing captain for camera focused events.

Organize hardware and personnel for tradeshows, seminars, symposia and training courses. Prep staff for appropriate messaging for given tradeshow.

Coordinate with MARCOM for necessary graphics, handouts, and other relevant marketing activities as needed.

This involves working with HPK to select the products that match strategic goals and market segments served by the trade show.
