Charah is hiring a Site Manager to manage its recently awarded environmental remediation project in Newark, AR.

This position is responsible for defining project purpose and scope, calculating resources required, establishing standards and protocols, allocating resources, scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors, evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions, resolving design problems, and evaluating and implementing change orders.ResponsibilitiesMeets construction budget by monitoring project expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions; providing non-project annual operating and capital budget informationMeets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvementsMaintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulationsUpdates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards; participating in educational; opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizationsAccomplishes construction human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning; executing; monitoring/controlling, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and proceduresManages sub-contractors by evaluating, and selecting sub-contractors; monitoring and controlling performancePrevents fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, OSHA, MSHA and DOT codes and regulationsEnhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishmentsAbility to operate Heavy Equipment is substantial in training and evaluating performancePerforms other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper managementQualificationsValid driver’s license requiredHigh School diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 10 years’ experience working in a construction environment requiredMinimum of 5-7 years’ experience in construction management or supervision preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) requiredAbility to read engineered drawings and blueprints requiredAbility to operate heavy construction equipment is strongly preferredOSHA 30 Certification preferredExperience in site grading/heavy construction including: mass excavations, embankments, hauling and placement of transported materials, utility construction, and/or landfill construction/operation preferredWork Environment/Standards of PerformanceThis position requires a flexible work schedule: nights, weekends and holidaysMust be able to climb, maintain body equilibrium, reach, grasp, bend and walk/stand/sit for extended periods of timeMust be able to hear and see naturally or with correctionMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsBe subject to loud noisesBe subject to atmospheric conditions one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odor, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilationThis position requires working in the internal and external environmentAbility to work independently, as a team, and team leaderAbility to work under pressure with time constraints in a changing environmentAct independently and originate new procedures and new approaches to problemsSustain interpersonal relationships which encourage openness, candor and trust, both internally and externallyMaintain company information in a confidential mannerProfessional appearance, warm demeanor and a positive attitude
